Wake up to discover it is actually a nice day in Dubai. Slight breeze and not as hot as it was when i arrived. Good day for the beach! Jen and I head to Jumeirah Beach Residences which is basically a section off ‘ The Palm’ where a heap of people live looking out on the beach. Not bad I say.
The sand is red-hot but once we get into the lovely flat crystal blue water we are all good. The water is probably about 27/28 degrees and the breeze makes it cooler on top of the water than in it. The saltiness of the ocean makes it incredibly easy to float and lay back and enjoy the sprites that we decided to take in with us. I could have stayed in there all day but alas the sun is likely to burn and we needed to get to the mall to purchase HARRY POTTER TICKETS!
We have decided to go to the Mall of the Emirates to see Harry Potter so in we go to pre-purchase out tickets. This mall is insanely massive and I still till this day have only seen a miniscule portion of it. So many shops – so many choices of Ice Cream i am glad I don’t have any need to go shopping! We have a look at this insanely huge ski field that is in the middle of this shopping centre and i get slightly excited at the fact that we are going in there in a couple of days.
We return home and just decide a nice relaxing afternoon in the cool is on the cards, I attempt to get my blog on but fail miserably then get my taco on… DELICIOUS they were, despite the fact of a failing oven ha. Off we head to harry potter and get these insane Marble Slab Tasty Creations.
*Insert Picture here – when i get it off joes phone*
It is this big punnet of ice cream which i had mixed with oreos and toffee, topped with caramel & choc topping and toffee topped with cream, topped with caramel & choc topping an toffee haha INSANELY delicious… made even better by the fact that Tim will be incredibly jealous to find out that I have had these and he hasn’t.
Brilliant night and day – tomorrow brings a trip out to Atlantis on the palm and Aquaventure… im excited.
It is finally time that I begin this blog! With so many ideas on what to write on I think I have come to the conclusion that i will write about everything!
There are so many different things to comment on, form ideas, form opinions about that I feel that this blog could become very useful for people wanting to know more stuff about stuff.
My main motivation for this blog started when I was trying to find places to eat. As a major fan of food I would love to research where was good to eat and what they had to eat. The only way to do this – whilst looking to be working – was to search the internet or ask your friends via email on where they would suggest. I found that the internet would supply details on *some* of the restaurants but wouldn’t express the atmosphere and review of both the food and service, and when they did they were from a pretentious high expectation point of view. At the end of the day I decided that people would perhaps prefer to hear the opinion of someone who was a food lover but not a pretentious one and someone to whom the atmosphere created by the staff and the venue really made the night out. Young people want to hear young ideas about food and that’s what I am about.
From here my mind took off on a brainstorming tirade towards all the things i could report on: Movies, sports, property, finances, travel and most recently websites. My belief that people might actually want to listen to me about these things mostly forms from the fact that I love to rant, i love to express my opinion but more importantly i love the interaction with people to after voicing my own opinion hearing theirs and learning from there.
As a young GenY web professional I guess I believe that I have some valid points and more importantly would like to provide these to those who have arrived at a new place, have no idea, want to know more, are looking for suggestions. I guess providing a starting point of someone else’s opinion with out all the jargon of a know -it – all. I know this help would have been useful to me when i moved from a country town to a big city. Just tell me how it is in real life!
SO after all that, if anything, this blog is just a log of my learnings and experiences as I tackle this thing they call life.
Live – Learn – Listen – Live.
